Hello to all Offset folk!

This is my first post, but I am honestly thrilled to be able to share this (OK, somewhat belated) news with you all!

Above, you will find a not only streamable, but downloadable mp3 of a new Efterklang song, ‘Modern Drift’. Oh, the wonders of this technological generation, sometimes it’s beggars belief, eh!

The release date for ‘Magic Chairs’ is slated for February 22nd, and the tracklisting for it is as follows:

Anyhow, that there opening track, ‘Modern Drift’, will hopefully warm your autumnal-cum-ready-for-hibernation souls. It’s probably the most uplifting thing I’ve heard all year, taking a big step in the pop (will eat itself) direction that Efterklang always threatened. Here be a little word from the band themselves:

“We are very proud of this record and feel that it introduces a new Efterklang sound. The songs draw inspiration from pop song structures, created and recorded with a live approach and we wanted to display every sound source clearly so that the listener can hear every ingredient of the music.”

Neat-o. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have, and let’s hope the album will live up these already high expectations. If only they’d done a cover of a cover…things would be so much easier!
