Sad news for all of us at the Offset camp. A band who we’ve been proud to put on at both festivals (and were planning on rightfully placing them on Main Stage this year) have decided to call it a day.

After two years, we have decided to call it a day with The Birds. We’ve experienced some great moments with this band but feel the time is right to concentrate on other passions. We want to thank everyone who has supported us these past two years and those of you who have taken the time to listen to our music, read our blog and meet us at our shows! We’ve met some great people along the way and have some fantastic memories! It’s time to move forward positively into the future and launch ourselves head first into whatever is in store for us. The past two years have been an exhilarating whirlwind and we will continue to live our lives without regret and full of creative thought and positivity!!! A big thank you to all of your support!!!

D-Bird:
After almost 2 years together, we lay to rest one of the most exciting, exhilarating and exhausting projects I have ever been involved in. It all started off from an impromptu jam, an impromptu band formed and within such a short time, the impromptu band went full time, touring the world, recording with the likes of Steve Albini and meeting people I could only ever dream we’d meet.

Rather than dwelling on the reasons for ending I think it’s important to look back and reflect on a proud achievement. We had FUN, I adored instrument swapping and more than anything, I loved being on stage. The time has now come to move on and focus on my new band Blue On Blue as well as my club Decasia Club, to thank those we’ve met along the way, enjoy new projects and take all that we have learned into a new direction. It has been one hell of a ride!! Thank you all for the support!

Brooklyn’s Parts & Labor play a perfect mix of noise, electronica and soaring melody that really deserves to see them as famous as, say, No Age or other noise-pop contemporaries. Given how anthemic they could be on record I was thus excited about the prospect of seeing them live, at Upset The Rhythm’s 199th show.

Artrocker start the year at break-neck pace with a whole week of gigs presenting a selection of some of the bands most likely to be causing a stir in the underground scene and most likely to ‘break out’ of the underground at some point in 2009.

In previous years, the ARTROCKER ANNUAL Festival has presented the likes of Good Shoes, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Maccabees, Young Knives, Ipso Facto, Foals, So So Modern, Hot Club De Paris, Johnny Foreigner, Art Brut, Thomas Tantrum amongst many others.

Performers on the line-up include artists and DJs who have already previously graced the B.E. stage.

It’s busy times for An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump. Only one week since their debut EP ”These Sins’ was released, they already surprise us with a new treat. Because the Birds love us, and Christmas, (and, more honestly, to prove that they really have been writing new stuff,) they’ve blessed us all with 4 brand new, more than exciting songs which they’ve put upon their blog. It has been a busy few months at DiscError Recordings. A collaboration with Experimental Circle Club at Offset Festival in August showcased the current cutting-edge DER roster (Ulterior, Micron 63, S.I.N.S) alongside future stars of tomorrow, including Factory Floor, I Am The Arm and An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump.

November sees the label’s fourth release and a fine addition to their Catalogue of Errors. Micron 63’s début single - Death is Colder Than Love - will be released as a limited 7″ vinyl and digital download at the start of the month, with a CD EP of exclusive remixes available towards the beginning of December.

The next Experimental Circle Club (ECC17a) takes place this Saturday 25th October upstairs at the
