Talk about an anticipated release. OFFSET FESTIVAL co-headliners The Slits are set to unleash their third album, 25 years after their break-up.
The legendary all girl band had a seemingly short run the first time around. Formed in the late 70s, they released only two albums before disgrouping in 1982. The influence of The Slits however, became stronger with each passing year. After a reunion in 2005, which led to a slew of tour dates and an EP, “Revenge Of The Killer Slits, a full release was only imminent.
The album’s title is Trapped Animal, and the tracklisting has already been confirmed:
The tentative release date is October 6th. If you can’t possibly wait that long, make sure to see what will only be a stellar performance from these legends when they play Offset Festival in September!
Fresh faced band R O M A N C E are looking for a new addition.
In less than a year on the scene, this group has already been covered in everything from the NME to P.i.X., and featured on the cover of Dazed and Confused Japan. They’ve released one (sold out) EP and have toured the UK. Not to mention the countless live sets in various clubs around their native town of London.
Unfortunately, due to other committments, they’ve found themselves one member less.
So if you’re a bassist, aged 18-21, based in London and willing to be dedicated full time, contact the band through their MySpace or via isthisromance@hotmail.com. Get in on it.
A charming little short film I stumbled upon earlier today, about a heavy metal band comprised of Scottish 12 Year-Olds. For anyone who was in a shit band when they were younger, this may be a little too close to the bone but it’s very touching and funny nonetheless. Also worth watching for the dad/manager’s Bruce Dickinson impression, and the best bass audition since Metallica’s Some Kind Of Monster.
Part exhibition, part performance. Live music gracing the stage and music photography by BE Fotography hanging from the ceiling - an intruiging amalgamation of an evening. Projections haunting the venue as some of London’s most exciting live bands grace the stage.
Live music from:
ADVERT
Teeth of The Sea
Phantom
We The Faceless

This is a free event so get down early to guarantee entry at 7pm and be inside before the lights go down…
C.R.Y. is a collective of London based artists, musicians, film makers and performers. Their first event will take place at Korsan Bar, Kingsland Road this bank holiday Sunday with SixteenWires, Adham Faramawy and Sally D performing live, and DJ’s including Closed Circuits, Susu Laroche and Doubleskin.
This time last year, Bombay Bicycle Club were pumping their brains with knowledge in preparation for their A Levels. 12 months on, they’re stepping up their campaign to be recognised as one of the UK’s brightest hopes with the imminent release of their much awaited debut long-player. They’ve just finished filming this ace video for next single ‘Dust on the Ground’, which, if anything, backs up what I’ve always thought about them; fans of a good takeaway, but probably not so much of deceptively demure-looking female bullies.
So the Breeders ATP starts today and since I’ve not yet got over the illness or the crushing sense of loss that came after such an amazing weekend. So to alleviate my blues, here are a selection of photos I took at the event:
