Review

For those of you that have never been to one of Sexbeat’s nights… where have you been?!! Lynchpins of Shoreditch nightlife for the last few years, they’ve now compiled some of the bands that have played or been played into one beautifully hand-crafted CD.
Their music policy has always been eclectic – their name sums it up well: a Gun Club track that was covered by Andrew Weatherall’s ‘Two Lone Swordsmen’ – and tends to take in anything (punk/rap/hardcore/psychobilly/metal/industrial) with a dark-edge and a bit of a kick to it.
More after the jump…

One of our very favourite festivals has sadly taken the decision to cancel this years event, citing poor ticket sales as one of the primary reasons.
Blissfields, much like our very own Offset, was a festival that stuck to the original idea of festivals without trying to stick a logo on everything that moved and kept ticket prices low. It’s sad to see their omission from this years festival calendar and we really hope that we see them back for 2009. A press release follows after the jump.

Is Glastonbury a goner?

^ Obligatory mud/idiot pic
Emily Eavis, the daughter and co-organiser of Michael Eavis’ Glastonbury Festival has raised doubts about the future of the world’s biggest music festival.
Orange World (either a fruit-based publication or something to do with the phone company) have reported that she and her father discussed the festival’s shelf-life at Christmas, and has admitted the festival does have a

Festival news

Some would say we were mad plugging other events but it is festivals like Truck & Blissfields who carry the same ethic as ourselves… put the best bands out there without worrying about profit from piss poor lager or mobile phone networks and for that we love them! Mini rant aside, the lovely people at Blissfields have now put tickets on sale for this years event. Being held 4-6 July at the Matterley Bowl, Winchester the line up is already looking immense with The Wonderstuff, Chris TT, Abdoujaparov & Dead!Dead!Dead! already confirmed. And best bit… it is only £60 for all 3 days. Brucie bargain baby!
Head over to the official site to check it out for yourself and tell them that Offset sent you!
